Why Treat Equine Sarcoid with Bloodroot? Discover the Benefits of Equi-Sarc!

Ever wondered why bloodroot is used to treat equine sarcoid? And what makes Equi-Sarc stand out from other products? Let's dive in!

Equine Sarcoid

Why Bloodroot? Bloodroot extract, derived from the plant Sanguinaria canadensis, has powerful cytotoxic and immune-boosting effects. The main component, sanguinarine, targets cancer cells when applied topically. However, many products on the market pair bloodroot with zinc chloride, a caustic substance that can cause severe irritation. This method aims to provoke the immune system to attack the tumor, but if it doesn't work, the sarcoid can grow rapidly and even cause tissue damage.

What Makes Equi-Sarc Different? Equi-Sarc contains bloodroot but without the harsh zinc chloride. Instead, it combines other potent natural ingredients to kill the tumor and boost the immune system without causing severe inflammation. Let's explore these ingredients and their benefits:

  1. Turmeric

    • Suppresses key proteins in cell proliferation

    • Activates caspases, triggering programmed cell death in tumor cells

    • Upregulates important tumor suppressor genes

    • Reduces the formation of new blood vessels that supply tumors

  2. Frankincense

    • Anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that reduce cancer-related inflammation and oxidative stress

    • Induces apoptosis (programmed cell death) by activating caspases

  3. Lemon Balm

    • Neutralizes free radicals

    • Reduces redness and swelling associated with skin inflammation

    • Blocks viral receptors, preventing viruses from attaching to and entering host cells

    • Interferes with viral protein synthesis and ribosomal activity, hindering viral replication

  4. Green Tea

    • Neutralizes harmful free radicals and reduces oxidative stress

    • Inhibits enzymes crucial for cancer cell growth and spread

  5. Red Ginseng

    • Contains ginsenosides with anticancer effects

    • Enhances both innate and adaptive immunity

    • Inhibits viral attachment and entry into host cells, interferes with viral replication, and blocks viral protein synthesis

  6. Propolis

    • Arrests cancer cell cycle progression

    • Reduces cancer cell invasion and metastasis

    • Affects multiple cancer-related signaling pathways

I have a horse that has been plagued with multiple sarcoids, and some large for years. It makes sense because he was a header in team roping for roughly 11 or so years before he came to me.

We have tried several immune boosters and vet cryo-freezing procedures, only to have them come back, or get larger and angrier!

I understand that since his previous owners didn't give any attention to this issue, that his viral load is probably very high and therefore strong, and I understand if the horse would need to be on your products for quite some time.

Do you think that the bundle pack of the Equi-Sarc and Equi-Life Span would be worth my effort, time,…

Hi Cheryl,

Yes, I do think the Equisarc and Lifespan are worth trying. The Lifespan is very good for joints as well and many of our customers end up keeping them on it long term.

Thanks for the question!

I have a mare that has a large sarcoid just above her knee on her right front leg. It does not infringe on her movement, however I worry about it becoming larger. Do you think she would benefit from your 2 products you recommend.
